माेरङकाे सुन्दरहरैँचास्थित मिडिया इन्द्रपुर एण्ड एडभरटाइजिङ् प्रा. लि. द्वारा सञ्चालित नेपाल गाैरव अनलाइनकाे सल्लाहकारमा साहित्यकार तथा समाजसेवी कमला प्रसाईलाई मनाेनित गरिएको छ । लामाे समय देखि साहित्य तथा समाजसेवामा समर्पित प्रसाईं हाल अमेरिकाकाे न्यूयोर्कमा बसाेबास गर्नुहुन्छ । प्रसाईंलाई नेपाल गाैरव अनलाइन सञ्चालककाे निर्णयले सल्लाहकारमा नियुक्त गरेको हाे । अनलाइन मिडियाकाे सल्लाहकारमा आवद्व हुन पाउँदा प्रसाईँले खुसि तथा धन्यवाद प्रकट गर्नु भएको छ । नेपाल गाैरवकाे सल्लाहकारमा प्रसाईँसँगै अग्रज पत्रकार तथा साहित्यकार कृष्णविनाेद लम्साल तथा स्रष्टा दुर्गा खरेल रहेका छन् । नेपाल गाैरवकाे प्रधान सम्पादक / प्रकाशकमा मणिराम दाहाल , व्यवस्थापक मन्जु तिम्सिना रहेका छन् । सम्पादकमा कुसुम पाैडेललाई नियुक्त गरिएको छ ।
साहित्यकार तथा समाजसेवी कमला प्रसाईं : एक प्रेरणादायी साहित्यिक व्यक्तित्व
साहित्यकार तथा समाजसेवी कमला प्रसाईं नेपाली भाषा, साहित्य, कला तथा संस्कृतिको संरक्षण, प्रवर्द्धन र अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विस्तारमा निरन्तर क्रियाशील एक सक्रिय स्रष्टा, शिक्षिका, व्यवसायी तथा सामाजिक अभियन्ता हुनुहुन्छ। वि.सं. २०२८ साल चैत्र २८ गते सुनसरी जिल्लाको धरान–घोपामा जन्मनुभएकी प्रसाईं मोरङको सलकपुरमा हुर्किनुभएको हो।
स्वर्गीय नारायणप्रसाद प्रसाईं र स्वर्गीय श्रीमती जयन्तादेवी प्रसाईंकी सुपुत्री उहाँले नेपाली विषयमा स्नातक तहसम्म अध्ययन गर्नुभएको छ। हाल अमेरिकामा बसोबास गर्दै साहित्यिक, सामाजिक तथा सांस्कृतिक गतिविधिमा निरन्तर सक्रिय रहनुभएको छ। उहाँ Founders Boutique की Owner तथा CEO हुनुहुन्छ भने करिब १४ वर्ष शिक्षण पेशामा संलग्न रही शिक्षा क्षेत्रमा समेत महत्वपूर्ण योगदान पुर्याउनुभएको छ।
कमला प्रसाईंको साहित्यिक यात्रा वि.सं. २०४९ मा मञ्चन गरिएको नाटक ‘चितामाथिको लास’ बाट औपचारिक रूपमा प्रारम्भ भएको हो। त्यसपछि उहाँ कविता, गीत, नाटक तथा चलचित्र कथावस्तु लेखनमा निरन्तर सक्रिय रहँदै आउनुभएको छ। उहाँको भिडियो फिल्म कथावस्तु ‘खोई कहाँ छ उज्यालो?’ (२०५०) ले विशेष चर्चा पाएको थियो। ‘म बिनाको मेरो जीवन’ (२०६३), ‘साइनो भित्रको मान्छे’ (२०७१), ‘सिमाना’ (२०७७) कविता संग्रह तथा ‘हृदयभित्र’ गीत संग्रह प्रकाशित भइसकेका छन्। पूर्णाङ्की नाटक ‘चितामाथिको लास’ पनि प्रकाशनमा आएको छ । उहाँका लेख, कविता तथा सिर्जनाहरू राष्ट्रिय तथा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय पत्रपत्रिका तथा वेब म्याग्जिनहरूमा निरन्तर प्रकाशित हुँदै आएका छन्। कविता संग्रह ‘पर्खाल’, उपन्यास ‘युगपुरुष कर्ण’ तथा बाल गीत एल्बम ‘मेरो कबिन’ प्रकाशोन्मुख कृतिका रूपमा रहेका छन्।
साहित्यसँगै संगीत क्षेत्रमा पनि उहाँ सक्रिय रहनुभएको छ। ‘नयनका आँसु’ (२०००) र ‘नबिर्स मलाई’ (२००५) गीत एल्बम सार्वजनिक भइसकेका छन् । ‘रातो राम्रो गुलियो मीठो’ र ‘लौन साथी संगिनी तीजको रहर जाग्यो’ शीर्षकका तीज गीत म्युजिक भिडियोहरू दर्शकमाझ लोकप्रिय बनेका छन्।
प्रवासमा बसेर नेपाली भाषा, साहित्य र संस्कृतिको संरक्षण तथा प्रवर्द्धनमा प्रसाईंको भूमिका विशेष रूपमा उल्लेखनीय मानिन्छ। अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नेपाली साहित्य समाज (अनेसास) को केन्द्रीय कार्यकारिणी समिति कोषाध्यक्षका रूपमा दुई वर्ष जिम्मेवारी सम्हाल्दै उहाँले अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय स्तरमा नेपाली साहित्यिक गतिविधि विस्तारमा योगदान दिनुभएको छ। उहाँ अनेसासको पूर्व केन्द्रीय सल्लाहकार, N&J Entertainment Inc. न्यूयोर्ककी संस्थापक अध्यक्ष, एनआरएनए आईसीसी साहित्य विभाग सदस्य, अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नेपाली कलाकार समाजकी केन्द्रीय सल्लाहकार लगायत विभिन्न राष्ट्रिय तथा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय संस्थामा नेतृत्वदायी भूमिकामा सक्रिय रहनुभएको छ। संगीत सागर कला केन्द्रकी संस्थापक सल्लाहकार, नेपाल साहित्य सञ्चार प्रतिष्ठान इटहरीकी संरक्षक सदस्य, वाणी प्रकाशन विराटनगर तथा अच्छा राई रसिक प्रतिष्ठानकी आजीवन सदस्य, नेपाल रेडक्रस र नेपाल जेसीजकी आजीवन सदस्यका रूपमा पनि उहाँको सक्रिय संलग्नता रहेको छ। धार्मिक पत्रिका ‘शुभारम्भ मासिक’ को सल्लाहकारका रूपमा पनि उहाँले योगदान दिँदै आउनुभएको छ।
साहित्यिक उन्नयन र स्रष्टाहरूको प्रोत्साहनका लागि प्रसाईंले नेपालमा ४० लाख रुपैयाँको अक्षय कोष स्थापना गरी नेपाली भाषाका स्रष्टाहरूलाई पुरस्कार वितरण गर्ने कार्य सुरु गर्नुभएको छ। जुन नेपाली साहित्य क्षेत्रका लागि उल्लेखनीय योगदानका रूपमा लिइन्छ। उहाँले कमला प्रसाईं साहित्य साधना पुरस्कार स्थापना गर्नु भएको छ ।
साहित्य, संगीत, शिक्षा तथा समाजसेवामा निरन्तर योगदान पुर्याएबापत उहाँ विभिन्न राष्ट्रिय तथा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय पुरस्कार तथा सम्मानबाट सम्मानित हुनुभएको छ। बालगुरु षडानन्द पुरस्कार, स्वर्गीय हरिभक्त कटुवाल स्मृति सर्वोत्कृष्ट गीती साहित्य पुरस्कार (२००५–०६), नेपाल टेलिभिजनको ‘ब्राइटर तिम्रो सुर मेरो गीत’ कार्यक्रममा निर्णायकको भूमिकाका लागि सम्मान (२००२), नारी विकास संघ सम्मान, शिक्षा तथा जेसीज क्षेत्रका सम्मानहरू उहाँले प्राप्त गर्नुभएको छ। न्यूयोर्क सिटी सरकारले सन् २०१५ मा दुईपटक नेपाली भाषा, साहित्य, कला र संस्कृतिको प्रवर्द्धनमा योगदान पुर्याएको भन्दै सम्मान प्रदान गरेको थियो। साथै ज्योति साहित्य प्रतिष्ठान, आरम्भ साहित्यिक मञ्च र उर्वरा फाउन्डेसन नेपालबाट सम्मानित हुनुभएकी प्रसाईं अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय साहित्यिक विशिष्ट नारी रत्न अवार्ड (२०७५), अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय साहित्य प्रतिभा सम्मान तथा कमला प्रसाईं साहित्य साधना पुरस्कारबाट समेत सम्मानित हुनुभएको छ।
पुत्र कबिनविक्रम शाहकी आमा कमला प्रसाईं प्रवासमा रहेर पनि नेपाली भाषा, साहित्य, कला र संस्कृतिलाई विश्वस्तरमा स्थापित गर्ने अभियानमा निरन्तर सक्रिय रहनुभएको छ। सिर्जनात्मक साधना, सामाजिक प्रतिबद्धता तथा सांस्कृतिक नेतृत्वमार्फत उहाँले अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नेपाली समाजमा विशिष्ट पहिचान स्थापित गर्न सफल हुनुभएको छ।

Writer and social activist Kamala Prasai has been appointed as an advisor to Nepal Gaurav Online, operated by Media Indrapur & Advertising Pvt. Ltd., based in Sundarharaicha, Morang.
Prasai, who has long been dedicated to literature and social service, is currently residing in New York, USA. She was appointed to the advisory position following a decision made by the management of Nepal Gaurav Online.
Expressing her happiness, Prasai conveyed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as an advisor to the online media platform. Along with Prasai, senior journalist and literary figure Krishnabinod Lamsal and creator Durga Kharel have also been included as advisors of Nepal Gaurav. Maniram Dahal serves as the Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Nepal Gaurav, while Manju Timsina holds the position of Manager. Kusum Paudel has been appointed as the Editor.
Kamala Prasai: An Inspiring Literary Personality and Social Activist….
Writer and social activist Kamala Prasai is an active creator, educator, entrepreneur, and social campaigner who has continuously contributed to the preservation, promotion, and international expansion of Nepali language, literature, art, and culture. She was born on Chaitra 28, 2028 B.S. in Dharan-Ghopaa of Sunsari district and was raised in Salakpur, Morang.
She is the daughter of late Narayan Prasad Prasai and late Jayanta Devi Prasai. She completed her Bachelor’s level education in Nepali literature. Currently residing in the United States, she remains actively involved in literary, social, and cultural activities. She is the Owner and CEO of Founders Boutique and contributed significantly to the education sector through approximately 14 years of teaching experience.
Kamala Prasai’s literary journey formally began in 2049 B.S. with the staging of her play Chitamathiko Laas (The Corpse on the Pyre). Since then, she has remained active in writing poetry, songs, drama, and film scripts. Her video film story Khoi Kaha Chha Ujyalo? (2050 B.S.) received notable recognition.
Her published works include poetry collections Ma Binako Mero Jeevan (2063 B.S.), Saino Bhitrako Manchhe (2071 B.S.), and Simana (2077 B.S.), as well as the song collection Hridaya Bhitra. The full-length drama Chitamathiko Laas has also been published. Her articles, poems, and literary creations have been regularly published in national and international newspapers, magazines, and web journals. Upcoming works include the poetry collection Parkhal, the novel Yugpurush Karna, and the children’s song album Mero Kabin.
Alongside literature, she has been actively involved in music. Her song albums Nayanka Aansu (2000) and Nabirsa Malai (2005) have been released. Teej song music videos such as Rato Ramro Guliyo Mitho and Laun Saathi Sangini Teejko Rahar Jagyo gained popularity among audiences.
Her contribution to preserving and promoting Nepali language, literature, and culture in the diaspora is particularly noteworthy. She served for two years as the Treasurer of the Central Executive Committee of the International Nepali Literary Society (INLS/ANESAS), contributing significantly to expanding Nepali literary activities internationally. She has also served as a former Central Advisor of ANESAS, Founding President of N&J Entertainment Inc. New York, member of the NRNA ICC Literature Department, Central Advisor of the International Nepali Artists Society, and has held leadership roles in several national and international organizations.
She is the Founding Advisor of Sangeet Sagar Art Center, Patron Member of Nepal Sahitya Sanchar Pratisthan, Itahari, and a lifetime member of Vani Publication Biratnagar, Achha Rai Rasik Pratisthan, Nepal Red Cross Society, and Nepal Jaycees. She also contributes as an advisor to the religious magazine Shubharambha Monthly.
For literary development and encouragement of writers, Prasai established a permanent endowment fund of NPR 4 million in Nepal to provide literary awards to Nepali language creators—an initiative regarded as a remarkable contribution to Nepali literature. She also founded the Kamala Prasai Sahitya Sadhana Award.
In recognition of her continuous contributions to literature, music, education, and social service, she has received numerous national and international honors, including the Bal Guru Shadananda Award, the Late Haribhakta Katuwal Memorial Best Lyric Literature Award (2005–06), recognition for serving as a judge in Nepal Television’s Brighter Timro Sur Mero Geet program (2002), Women Development Association Award, and several honors in education and Jaycees sectors. The New York City Government honored her twice in 2015 for promoting Nepali language, literature, art, and culture. She has also been honored by Jyoti Sahitya Pratisthan, Aarambha Literary Forum, and Urbara Foundation Nepal, and has received the International Literary Distinguished Woman Gem Award (2075 B.S.), International Literary Talent Honor, and the Kamala Prasai Sahitya Sadhana Award.
Mother of Kabin Bikram Shah, Kamala Prasai continues her mission of establishing Nepali language, literature, art, and culture on the global stage while living abroad. Through creative dedication, social commitment, and cultural leadership, she has successfully established a distinguished identity within the international Nepali community.
