KRISHNA JANMASTAMI

Krishna Janmastami meaning Lord Krishna’s birthday is one of the greatest celebrations of entire human beings. Because of mighty power Lord Krishna, the 8^th incarnation of Narayana, is uttered with other several names like Govinda, Gopal, Gokula, Keshav, Madhusudhan, Shyamsundar, Damodar, Basudev, Hari, Manmohan, Bhagawan Rishikesh. May the world know that the birth place of Lord Krishna (Rishikesh) is Ruru Kshetra-Ridi which lies in palpa district of Nepal. This is the original Rishikesh absolutely not Uttarakhanda’s Rishikesh. Just a few centuries ago, the terai belt of Nepal was highly affected with Malaria so Indians were unable to come to Ruru Rishikesh (Nepal) to pay homage and built Rishikesh temple in Uttarkhanda with utmost devotion. May the researcher come and explore the fact ignoring Wikipedia, google, Youtubes. Certain group of so-called spiritual masters have spread rumor regarding Lord Krishna’s birth place.  Also may you understand that there was no country named India before British rule in India. Long before, the whole Indian sub continent was ruled by the great King Bharat residing in Bharatpur Nepal. Ancient name of India inherits from Bharatkhanda meaning part of King Bharat’s land.  

Non-the- less, we shall discover oneness if we come out from the boxes of religion. It is not only the festival of Vishnu / Krishna followers of Nepal and Hindus of India but Lord Krishna story has been depicted in ancient Greek mythology and all the aborigines including native Americans, Australians, Persian, Russian, Jewis, South Africans. They also celebrate Krishna Janmastami a bit differently but with the same essence.  Simply, we can imagine that there was widespread one religion of truth and humanity long before Jewis, Islam, Taois, Sikh, Buddhist, Zen, Hindu and Christianity. Only the so-called boxes of religion have confused people saying ‘our religion is better and other’s is bitter’.  We need to come out breaking such religious walls and built bridge so that we do understand the reality.  Moreover, Bible is the photocopy of Lord Krishna’s teaching because Jesus Christ was highly impressed with the teachings of Lord Krishna while he was in the Himalays of Nepal in search of truth.  So, Krishna+nity (teachings), Krishna + Nity, Kurisunanity became Christianity as a language transmission. The law of Moses and Bible is exactly the same teachings as in Bhagawat Geeta. Sargon’s birth place in a basket set adrift in a river to avoid infanticide, rescued and raise by royal family (King Sargon of Akkad) is the same Lord Krishna story as we narrate in Nepal. Therefore, all the world religion celebrates Krishnajanmastami in some way.

However, The Vedic Sanatan Dharma followers of Nepal have been celibrating with ease and ecstasy from the time immemorial long before Hindus of India. May you understand that Vedic Sanatan Dharma is the universal religion of One Truth- One God- One World- One Humanity. It embraces all the religion as an ‘Aumkar Family’. Nepal used to be called ‘Vedic Sanatan Dharma Nepal Rastra” before advent of Hindu Pundit of India- Mr.Sankaracharya. We do not find any Hindu word written in the history of Nepal before 1990 Bikram Sambat. However, Hindus are the same Aryans migrated from the Himalayas of Nepal and dwelled in ‘Indus Valley’. Later, Persians used to call Hindu for ‘Shindu’ People as they don’t have ‘sa’ sound to utter.   It is the reason, why Nepal and India has same culture and festivals. Thus, Krisnajanmastami, the Vedic festival of Nepal is celebrated with great respect till today in several places of world including entire India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Guyana, Indonesia, Malaysia, Samoa island, Suriname, Fiji, Caribbean, Mauritius, South Africa, Australia, Germany, England and America.

On this pious occasion people dance, exchange gifts, perform drama, visit Krishna / Vishnu temple for Puja, fasting whole day, staying vigil whole night. Wine, meat, tobacco, drugs is strictly prohibited throughout life among Krishna followers. Grand celebration held’s every year in Lord Krishna’s temple (Patan Durbar Square). Three storied temple built just by stones depicting entire Krishna’s biography is somewhat mesmerizing. Sophisticated modern buildings were damaged during violent earthquake. Modern architecture come and visit this temple with awe and wonder as entire temple is build by stones without using  any nails, iron, cement ! Wow! It has become world heritage sites now and mesmerized westerners.
