My observation on the recent visit of Indian foreign minister, Shusma Swaraj and two days fan-fare activities that Nepali people witnessed. It is well and good when Indian politicians visit Nepal, instead of Nepali politicians running to Delhi all the time to get their blessings to sit in the hot seat of priminister in Nepal. Nepali people are sick tired of this ever going saga. The wind is blowing from opposite direction and I have taken it positively but with a grain of salt.

Apparently, it looks Modiji certainly wants to improve the ruptured relationship with KP Oli jee who is a priminister in waiting. If every thing goes as expected, Oli jee will become the first priminister of the federal democratic republic of Nepal after the promulgation of the constitution of Nepal but anything can happen in Nepal given the integrity and character of Nepali politicians. Moreover, Sher Bahadur Deuba and his likes in NC are there to weave all kinds of conspiracies to break the left alliance in collusion with Indian ruling establishment and madeshi parties. Anybody can tell this from the repeated attempts by Sher Bahadur and the Sashanka Koirala to offer priministership to Prachanda for complete five years. They will continue to do so in the future also because NC does not have a leader who can inspire hope, optimism and reform the party. They are bankrupt and the only thing they can do is conspiracy based politics.

Modiji and and Indian establishment felt badly humiliated even more than NC by left alliance’s victory in Nepal’s election in general and UML’s spectacular victory because of Oli’s nationalist’s stand the dream of prosperity he espoused in the election. Despite all kinds of political ‘hatkhanda’ and hanky-panky deals seen and unseen( for example Sher Bahadur Deuba’s clinging to power and creating obstacles for power transfer, election commission’s unconstitutional modus operandi to delay the formation of new government and madeshi parties open call to Prachanda to become priminister on their support have connection to New Delhi’s intentions to keep Oli from becoming priminister), when it became clear that Oli can’t be prevented, then Modiji abruptly changed his strategy by creating this HONEY TRAP. Apparently it looks very tempting to Oli ji and UML but there are wheels within the wheels. Oli and UML leaders must ponder into their move in the backdrop of this.

The Indian colonial mindset will do anything to keep Nepal under its direct protectoriate state like Bhutan. The best thing for Oli to do right now is certainly improve the relationship with Indian ruling establishment, conclude left alliance party unification asap and if that is not possible, form a left alliance majority government and start implementing some of the seminal projects that you envisioned like road and railway infrastructure development in the northern frontier connecting to Tibet through Kerung, OBOR initiative signed by Prachanda government and north south road connectivity. If you can do these things, Nepal will truly become a sovereign country and Indian interference will naturally diminish. You will be elevated as truly a visionary nationalist leader.

All Modi is trying to do is to prevent you from doing this. Don’t ever trust that you can form a stable government with madeshi parties and don’t ever trust the assurances and commitment that you get from Modiji. History has given you a chance. If you don’t use it prudently for the greater good of country, you will loose everything, your party will loose everything and Nepali people will loose their dreams of prosperity!!
