ICC’s INTERFERENCE ON NRN USA ELECTION IS UNACCEPTABLE : PROF. GOPI UPRETI

Dear NRN USA friends

In the name of resolving NRN USA’s election crisis, ICC has recently formed a 3-member crisis resolution team. We don’t know what mandate this team has been granted by ICC but one thing is crystal clear. That is, ICC can’t and must not interfere NRN USA’s election. NRN USA’s election must be conducted as per the bylaws of NRN USA and the law of the land. NRN USA’s judiciary committee is the only entity that has been entrusted to interpret the NRN USA bylaws. The judiciary committee has already given its verdict and the directives to the election committee. The judiciary committee has clearly instructed election committee to include Gauri Joshi’s name in the list of the candidates and so far, the election committee has not honored this instruction as of now.

Why ICC is poking its nose into the election business of NRN USA? Why ICC wants to influence NRN USA’s election? Why ICC leadership does not want to see Gauri Joshi to contest this election? I personally admire Shesh Ghale (our president), but don’t understand why he is being misled, by whom and for what purpose? We don’t understand why ICC is using hanky-panky under deal? Everybody knows Gauri Joshi served in NAC under Dr. Ambika Adhikari and NAC evolved into the NRN USA.  Dr. Ambika Adhikari has publicly stated that and there are already records and minutes that can vindicate that Gauri Joshi served in the executive team of Dr. Adhikari. If this is the case, then Dr. Ambika Adhikari will also be barred from running for president of NRN USA in future by the same token of logic if he wishes to run. Are we (NRN USA) prepared to accept this? Is this what all NRN USA members want ?

NRN USA bylaws clearly stipulate that any bona fide regular member can run for any position. The bylaws and law of the land protect the fundamental rights of all NRN USA members to run for any position. This is the bedrock principle of democracy in the USA. My friends, it is not a question of supporting one candidate against another, it is the question of protecting the fundamental right of NRN USA members. It would be a gross injustice to bar Gauri Joshi from being a candidate, a gross infringement on the fundamental right of an individual. IS THIS WHAT WE WANT IN USA? IF NOT THEN, SHOULD NOT WE CONDEMN SUCH ACT OF INJUSTICE?

INJUSTICE ANYWHERE IS A THREAT TO JUSTICE EVERYWHERE.

LET US STAND TOGETHER TO PROTECT GAURI JOSHI’S FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT.

BY DOING SO WE WILL PROTECT OUR OWN FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS.

RESPECTFULLY

PROF. GOPI UPRETI
