Edgewood, Maryland | Saturday, June 21, 2025 — Dinesh Sunar, a globally renowned parkour athlete from Nepal, was awarded the prestigious INAS National Honor 2025 by the International Nepalese Artists Society (INAS) America. The award recognizes his outstanding achievements in parkour and his dedication to promoting Nepali talent and culture internationally.
The grand ceremony took place at the Ramada by Wyndham in Edgewood, Maryland, and was attended by an esteemed gathering of over 600 guests, including state senators, delegates, civic leaders, renowned artists, journalists, athletes, and members of the Nepali diaspora from the U.S. and Europe. The INAS National Honor, the highest recognition bestowed by INAS America, is awarded to individuals who have achieved exceptional distinction in their respective fields and contributed significantly to cultural enrichment and society.
Dinesh Sunar’s remarkable career in parkour has been marked by several historic accomplishments:
• First Nepali Athlete on Guinness World Records Day: Dinesh became the first Nepali to feature in the prestigious Guinness World Records Day event in North America.
• Leading Record-Breaking Events: He has organized and participated in over a dozen world record events in collaboration with U.S. government institutions and Nepali-American organizations.
• Global Media Attention: His work in parkour has garnered significant international media coverage, including features by BBC, NBC, and ABC.
• International Mother Teresa Award: Sunar was honored with this award for his contributions to society through discipline and the performing arts.
• National Athletic Achievements: He has secured three gold medals in gymnastics and martial arts in Nepal.
• Youth Coach and Educator: As a coach and parkour educator in the U.S., Dinesh has advanced fitness, cultural exchange, and youth empowerment.
