असार १६ गते, काठमाडौं । आजको यस विश्वव्यापीकरण युग तथा सांघुरिदो संंसारमा इन्टरनेट प्रविधिको महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका रहेको छ । इन्टरनेट जीवनको अंग भई सकेको छ । विश्वमा इन्टरनेटको बढ्दो प्रयोगस.गै कुनै पनि जानकारीहरू क्षण भरमा नै संसारभर फैलिन्छ । सन् १९८० मा पहिलो पटक सर टिम बर्नरस लिले हाइपर टेक्सट ट्रान्सफर प्रोटोकल (एचटीटीपी) को अवधारणा अघि बढाएको थियो । उनले सन् १९९० मा एचटीएमएल, युआरएल, वेभ ब्राउजर, सर्भर र पहिलो वेब पेज बनाए । तर यो वेब पेज सिमित व्यक्तिको मात्र पहुंचमा थियो । तर पछि उनले सन् १९९१ अगस्ट २३ देखि वल्र्ड वाइड वेब (डब्लूडब्लूडब्लू) मा आम सर्वसाधारणमा पहुंच पु¥याए । इन्टरनेट र बल्र्ड वाइड वेब फरक भएता पनि अचेल तिनलाई संयुक्त रुपमै बुझिन्छ ।

तर हाम्रो जस्तो अल्पविकसित मुलकमा इन्टरनेट भनेको सामाजिक सञ्जाल मात्र हो भन्ने भ्रमबाट माथि उठेर देशको प्रगतिमा यसबाट हुने योगदान महत्वपूर्ण हुने बुझाउन जरुरी देखिन्छ । इन्टरनेटको दुरुपयोगको बारेमा पनि बेलाबेलामा सुुनिने पनि गरिन्छ । इन्टरनेटको प्रयोग र उपलव्धीले राजनीतिक, सामाजिक, शैक्षिक, आर्थिक लगायत क्षेत्रहरुमा परेको प्रभावले विश्वले निकै फड्को मारेकोे छ । विश्वमा बढ्दो विकासक्रमसंगै इन्टरनेट एक वरदान नै सावित भएको छ । हाल विश्वमा सूचना प्रविधिको दु्रत गतिले विकाससंगै सबै क्षेत्रलाई एकै थलोमा ल्याउन सफल भएको छ ।

इन्टरनेटको विस्तारले विश्वको अर्थतन्त्रमा फड्को मारेको छ र त्यसमा पनि सामाजिक सञ्जालहरूको बढदो प्रयोगले भातृत्वको विस्तारमा पनि थप मद्दत पु¥याएको छ । विश्वमा इन्टरनेटको सुरूवातको २५ वर्षको विशेष अवसरमा नेपाल डाटा एण्ड रिसर्च सेन्टर प्रा.लि. को आयोजनामा प्रथम इन्टरनेट एक्सपो–२०१७ को आउंदो २०७४ साल मंसीर ९ – १३ गतेसम्म (२५–२९ नोभेम्बर, २०१७) आयोजना गर्ने जमर्काे गरेको छ । यस एक्सपोले इन्टरनेट प्रविधिसंग सम्बन्धित संघ–संस्था तथा व्यवसायीहरूबीच आपसी समन्वय, नयां उपायहरूको खोजि, अन्र्तक्रिया, सूचनाको आदान प्रदान, उत्पादनको प्रवद्र्धन, बजार व्यवस्थापन आदि कार्यहरू एकै छाना मुनि बसेर गर्ने सुनौला अवसर प्राप्त हुनेछ ।

तसर्थ नेपाल डाटा एण्ड रिसर्च सेन्टर प्रा.लि. को आयोजनामा हुने प्रथम इन्टरनेट एक्सपो–२०१७ सबै सम्बन्धित निकायहरुको सहभागिता आफैमा एउटा ऐतिहासिक विषय बन्न सक्छ । त्यसैले सञ्चार जगतको सुझाव तथा सहयोगले हामीलाई उत्साह र मार्गदर्शन प्राप्त हुनेछ भन्नै आशा गर्दछ ।

25 Years of Internet in the World

With the rapid globalization, the world has become a small place to live in and internet has been a major factor for this. Internet has been a part of daily life for everyone. Anyone can access to any kind of information from anywhere with the help of internet. In 1980, Sir Tim B. Lee developed the concept of Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (http) and later in 1990 developed HTML, URL, Web browser, server and the first webpage which was accessible only to the limited users. It was only on 23rd August 1991 he developed World Wide Web (www) for the general public. Although Internet and World Wide Web (www) are different but they are taken as synonyms.

 

In an underdeveloped country like Nepal, internet is often treated as only social networking sites. It is high time to educate people and make them realize about the importance of internet in the development of a country. World has achieved a rapid development with the help of internet in various sectors like political, economical, educational, social etc. Internet has been a boon to the rapid globalization and has helped to bring all the sectors of the world in one place. It has not only contributed in the development but also has helped to maintain the brotherhood among people from different parts of the world with the use of social networking sites.

 

NDRC is going to organize the 1st Internet Expo in Nepal from 25th – 29th Nov. 2017 on the occasion of 25 years of internet in the world. This expo will provide the opportunity to all the stakeholders of internet to share the information and views regarding internet technology, discuss the opportunities of taking it to more consumers and ways of solving the problems regarding the misuse of internet etc all in one place.

 

Information technology is the backbone for the development of any country. Prosperity cannot be imagined without information technology. Therefore, we aim to organize 1st Internet Expo- 2017 to facilitate every sector. All the participating organizations and activities of businesses will only help to uplift the status of our country. Hence, your participation can be historical and will motivate us to organize the first ever internet expo successfully and smoothly. It will definitely create a strong base for the development of our country as a whole.
