Respected International/National/State/Student/Community leaders, members and well-wishers of NASeA region and beyond,
Happy Thanksgiving!
On behalf of Nepalese Association in Southeast America (NASeA), it is my pride to share with you all that NASeA actively participated and played a key role together with ANA, ANMA, BANA, NRN-NCC of USA, and many other International/National/Regional/State/ Student organizations Presidents, Social leaders, Nepali American community and Friends of Nepal during the protest rally in the nation’s capital, Washington DC which was held on Sunday, November 22, 2015.
The rally was of historical success and first of its kind in the Nation’s capital. More than three thousand Nepalis and foreigners including children participated from all over US in the protest rally. Participants gathered at Lafayette Square Park in front of the White house and a procession rally marched towards the Indian Embassy.
According to the organizing committee, a petition letter will be officially handed over to President Obama and the Indian Ambassador, the UN Chair, together with Local/State Representatives, Senators and Nepal Caucus and other influential diplomats. This petition will be signed by the Nepali Americans, Friends of Nepal and endorsed by all US based Nepali organizations.
We hope that this event of ours will be a step forward in addressing Nepal’s crises so that without any reservations India would recognize and honor the constitution of Nepal, a sovereign nation, by not interfering in its internal matters, and by allowing free flow of goods from India and other trading partners to Nepal immediately.
We would like for your organization to endorse the Rally and request that your respective organization be signatory to the memo that will be submitted to the White House and Indian Embassy. Let us all hope that our little effort will play a vital role in advocating the current crises of Nepal and put a pressure to India from here in the U.S. and around the world. Stay tuned, NASeA is planning to organize similar Protest Rally against India in Atlanta together with her partner organizations NAG, SCAN, NCNC, TNCC, United-FNAFANS, NANA, ALNA, GCNA, INLS-FL/GA/NC Chapters and all community organizations.
