Sub: Grand success of ANTA 7th General Convention 2024 in Washington DC, USA.

Dear All,

Association of Nepali Teraian in America (ANTA) is proud to announce the grand success of its 7th General Convention held on 1st June 2024in Washington DC, USA.

The event took place in the presence of a chief guest, founders, advisors, board of directors & diaspora leaders. It was a historic moment to have our chief guest, Dr.CK Raut (Member of Parliament & Janamat Party President), and four founders, Mrs. Annapurna Deo, Mr. Lalit Jha, Mr. Mukesh Singh, Mr. Ratan Jha and advisors Mr. Lokendra Thakur and Mr. Mukesh Karna. 

The event was also attended by the prominent dignitaries of various national and regional organizations. This included Mr. Kabindra Sitoula (ANS- Former Executive), Mr. Khagendra Adhikari  (Association of Nepalis in America), Mr. Chandan Singh (President- MADHUR),  Mrs. Nilu K Uprety (Vice president- America Nepali Samaj), Mr. Adrian Pokhrel (Politician),  Mr. Kiran Sitoula (Vice Mayor of Indian head), Mr. Ram Kharel (CEO, Sagarmatha TV), Mr. Indrajeet Yadav (National Deputy GM – Janamat Party ) , Mr. Dhiraj K  Shah (Sr. VP- NRN- Nonresidential Madhesi Association)and other delegates from various other organizations. This event was also graced by the Mithila painting artist Mr. Ajit Sah. 

The event formally started with “Deep Prajwalan” by our chief guest Dr. Raut, Dr. Mridula Gupta (Outgoing President) & Mr. Narayan Deo (ANTA Eldest Veteran)followed by National anthems of the USA and Nepal sung by the kids of our community. All the esteemed guests were honored by various members of executive boards.  About 200 friends and family of ANTA attended the event and around $8000 was raised during the event facilitated by Mr. Rajesh Shah.

Mr. Sushil Jha & Dr. Namrata GR Raut announced the election result of the new “Central Executive Committee” led by President Tauleshwar P Chaudhary. Outgoing president Dr. Mridula Gupta handed over the baton to the new committee followed by the speech by both outgoing and incoming presidents. An oath ceremony was performed where all the new members took the oath and signed the document to abide with ANTA bylaws and the US Constitution. All ANTA intellectual property were transferred from the outgoing committee to the new committee. 

During afternoon session, Dr. Namrata GR Raut and Mr. Samrat Jha conducted a youth session where ANTA young leaders (Susma, Adya, Isha, Prisha, Opal, Saurav, Ridhi, Aradhya, Ziesha and others), interacted with the general audience.

The award session was held in the evening to honor the accomplishments of the members for their commitment to the ANTA and to the community in general. Mr. Mukesh Singh was awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his profound and exceptional commitment to the Madhesi diaspora.

Various awards and certificates were distributed to other members and youth volunteers for their involvement in the community services. All awards were handed by our chief guest, Dr.CK Raut.

Youth volunteers- Ms. Susma Chaudhary, Ms. Prisha Karna, & Mr. Ridam Shah were awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) for required hours of volunteering services to the community and have received a special Gold Medal and a signed certificate from the President of the United States of America, Mr. Joe Biden. 

The cultural program was trailed by the award ceremony where every one of the guests, delegates, and children sang and moved to different traditional and folk music.

The event was finally concluded with the closing remarks from the incoming president Mr. Tauleshwar P Chaudhary.
