U. S. Nepali Complete Count Committee (USNCCC) – Press Release

Enepalese Published on: November 17, 2019

We are delighted to inform the Nepali communities in the United States of America and the media existing in this land and beyond that the U. S. Nepali Complete Count Committee (USNCCC) is formed with 18 community members and 19 advisors representing different community organizations in New York City on Oct 20, 2019. The purpose of this Committee is to aware Nepali individuals residing in the U.S. to participate and be counted in the 2020 Census that is going to happen on April 1st, 2020.

The USNCCC is now a formal partner with www.2020Census.gov registered in the U.S. Census Bureau.

We have figured that the people of Nepali race have been undercounted historically in the earlier censuses in the United States. We have recognized that the four major issues possibly play roles in undercounting: 1) Lacking knowledge about importance of Census, 2) Citizenship status, 3) Living arrangements (combine living), and 4) Privacy/confidential issues.

We will work on these issues and beyond developing the scientific strategies while partnering with individuals, leaders of community organizations, and the Government Officials.
