Ms. Elizabeth Thakuri Nepali American citizen received the President’s Award for Educational Excellence in recognition of Outstanding Academic Excellence today at a graduation ceremony at North Springfield Elementary School during the 5th grade promotion ceremony. Elizabeth Thakuri graduated from the NSES School, in Springfield VA. This prestigious President’s Award is signed by President Donald Trump and Ms. Betsy Devos, the US Secretary of Education.

In addition to this prestigious award in academic excellence, she also received the Citizenship award which only two students have won at NSES today. The Citizenship Award honors any student who has demonstrated model qualities and characteristics that a school can hope to instill in all students.

She also received an award for being in Honor Choir and Bell Choir and other numerous awards such as the Sportsmanship award, and The Presidential Youth Fitness Award. She is the daughter of two times Guinness World Record Holder Ujjwal S Thakuri and Priyanka Nepal. This is a great achievement for the Nepali-American community as well.

The proud parents of Ms. Thakuri are greatly appreciative of the teachers, and the principal at NSES who contributed to her academic and personal growth throughout her elementary school years.
