Some people have a way of touching your life and your heart, Shanta is one of those people. I met Shanta while working at Fairport Baptist Home. We are both Certified Nursing Assistance and I was one of the many people that helped Shanta through orientation. We quickly became great friends and she enjoyed teaching me about her culture and customs as much as I enjoyed learning about them. When I became engaged it was a no brainer to ask Shanta to stand with me on my wedding day and to be one of my bridesmaids. She is kind, caring, smart, beautiful, and most of all the light of so many peoples’ lives. Shanta stood with me on my wedding day and now I stand by her when she needs all of us most. Shanta was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and is undergoing Chemotherapy treatment at the Wilmont Cancer Center. Her diagnosis has left her with no choice but to fight for her life. She is no longer able to work and her family has been by her side since her treatments have started. This is going to be a long and exhausting process and her family needs help. Please consider donating to this cause and help a more than deserving family through this hard time.
