Saraswati Puja celebrated worshipping the Goddess of knowledge

Shree Panchami Festival that falls on Magh Shukla Panchami as per the Lunar Calendar has been celebrated by worshipping Goddess Saraswati on Wednesday.

On the day of Magh Shukla Panchami, people celebrate the festival by worshipping Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge.

The festival, also known as Basanta Panchami or Saraswati Puja, is one of the important festivals in Nepal. Basanta Panchami is regarded as the day of the end of winter and onset of spring.

Goddess Saraswati is worshipped as the source of all intelligence and creativity. She is regarded as the creator of art, music, science.

On this day, many Nepali kids start writing their first letters and alphabets.
Children are taken to Saraswati Temples and asked to write first letter of their life. The walls of Swaraswati Temples across the country are scribbled by Nepali alphabets, numbers and phrases.
