The Embassy of Nepal in Ottawa successfully concluded its passports and consular service camp, in Edmonton, Alberta Province of Canada. The camp was held over two days on 17 and 18 May 2025, and aimed at providing accessible and efficient consular services to Nepali citizens residing in Alberta and surrounding areas. During the two-day camp, the camp provided passport renewal, various consular services, including certifications, attestations and power of attorney.
The initiative was taken to address the needs of the Nepali community in Canada, ensuring ease of access to essential consular services without requiring travel to the embassy. This effort aligns with the embassy’s commitment to supporting Nepali citizens in Canada. The Edmonton camp also reflects the embassy’s ongoing efforts to make essential services accessible, fostering a stronger connection with the Nepali diaspora in Canada.
The camp witnessed significant response from the Nepali community, with over 250 individuals availing the services provided. The camp not only facilitated service delivery but also served as a platform to foster greater interaction between the embassy officials and the Nepali diaspora living in Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan provinces and surrounding cities.
The Embassy of Nepal appreciates NRNA Canada, Nepalese Canadian Society of Edmonton (NECASE), other community organizations, their office bearers and community leaders in Edmonton who collaborated in making this initiative impactful. The Embassy also thanks the service seekers and volunteers for their contribution to the smooth conduct of the camp. Given the positive feedback and success of the event, the embassy is committed to continue its efforts in organizing similar service camps in the future.
