Children Book Donation Campaign in Nepal

Dear friend/brother/sister,

Namaste and Happy New Year 2021

Year 2020 was a difficult year for everyone. We do not believe that there is anyone who is not touched or affected by the pandemic in one way or the other. While most of us are hit by different types of crisis depending on where you are and what age group you fall into, children have been hit with multiple and often different type of crisis. Not only are children physically inactive since they cannot go out and play freely as they used to, they are also mentally affected by what they have seen or heard and do not necessarily fully understand. Among others, education has been greatly hampered. Unable to go to school and get education for most of the academic year, they have been robbed of their basic right to learn. While schools have been trying hard to fill the gap by offering online classes where they can, it has not been successful in most communities due to lack of infrastructure, teacher training and community and government support. This is not because of anyone fault (whether it be children, parents, school, teachers, communities or government) or short sightedness but rather due to unusual circumstances that we all are going through.

To play our small part in helping children who are affected, I and my friend Uttam have initiated “Children Book Donation Campaign” worldwide to provide at least one book to as many children as possible in Nepal. Our personal goal is to buy and distribute at least 1000 books to 1000 children in Nepal in the first two weeks of February 2021 (1st February to 15th February). However, we hope to have much more books donated to children in Nepal via organizations and individuals like you. We are already working with a few children book publication companies in Nepal to buy books at a discounted rate and distribute them at various location via our volunteers.

We would love to have you join us in our campaign so that we can distribute more books to more children. If you like you may help us for this campaign via any of the options listed below.

1. Buy books on your own and donate to children during first 2 weeks of February.

2. Buy books and have us donate to children via our volunteers

3. Donate money to organizations listed below who have created their own campaign.
