NACC support is available for COVID-19

Dear Valued Community Members,

April 10, 2020

 

As we all are aware of, the impact of COVID-19 is increasing day of day. We are on the verge of hitting an apex in about a week or two weeks’ time. This is a crucial time where Nepali American Community Center (NACC) wishes the safety and well-being of our community members. On top of that, we want to ensure we are prepared to help our community in any way possible. We reached out to many social Organizations within Washington Metropolitan area and we all agreed to collaborate to reach the larger audience. At this moment, we appreciate any kind of help we can get from you.

Below are the organizations that agreed to team up with NACC to create bigger impact in our community.

Besides above social organizations, we have had many businesses and private organizations also willing to join us in this noble cause.

NACC Volunteers will provide support in the following areas and support will be provided in both Nepali and English languages.

1.       Medical: This service is already started and please call (703) 957- 9251 to get help.

·     A core team of medical professionals and doctors will be available on call

·     Team can help answer caller understand severity of illness, self- quarantine protocol, distinguishing COVID-19 symptom than other and if needed, appropriate referral to hospital or other medical services

2.       Psychological: This service is already started and please call (703) 957-9343 to get help.

·     A core team of local psychiatrist, therapist, counselor and related professionals will be available on call

·     Team can help respond caller with emotional and psychological need at this difficult time

·     Team will coordinate efforts with SANN

3.       Socio economic and comfort services: (703) 957-0684 This service will be rolled out on Thursday, April 16, 2020

·     A core team of local volunteers will be recruited and trained to assist services in the community, and few are as below:

  1. School students
  2. Unemployment benefit
  3. Navigate Rent and Mortgage Assistance Program
  4. Small Business Assistance Program
  5. Tax and Payroll Protection Related Questions
  6. Emergency Food and Medical Supplies
  7. Emergency Hardship
  • Supplies: From get going we will collect/purchase and supply Thermometer, Tylenol, Gloves, and Oximeter to our community members as needed. We have already started procuring the above-mentioned items.

We need your help more than ever to carry out this mission and reach out to all our affected community members.
