Israel has announced a series of new measures aimed at improving the humanitarian situation in Gaza, including the resumption of aerial aid airdrops. This comes as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continues combat operations to defeat Hamas and secure the release of all hostages.
The latest humanitarian efforts include an immediate resumption of air-dropping aid. Seven pallets of supplies, containing essential items like flour, sugar, and canned food, are being delivered. To facilitate ground deliveries, Israel states it will designate humanitarian routes for safe movement of UN convoys carrying food and medicine, and humanitarian pauses may be implemented in densely populated areas.
In a significant step to boost water supply, a power line from Israel has been reconnected to a Gaza desalination plant. This is expected to increase the plant’s daily water output to 20,000 cubic meters.
The IDF strongly asserts that there is no starvation in Gaza, labeling claims of widespread famine as a “false campaign promoted by Hamas.” The military emphasizes that the responsibility for effective food distribution lies with the UN and international aid organizations, urging them to improve their operations and ensure aid does not fall into Hamas’s hands.
Despite these new humanitarian steps, the IDF confirmed that combat operations have not ceased. The military reiterated its commitment to continue its mission in Gaza, both above and below ground, to return all hostages and achieve the defeat of Hamas.
