Nepal Cultural Performance Program by MRDF Nepal Group

The Nepal Cultural Performance Program, organized by the Music Research & Development Forum (MRDF Nepal)and the Love & Support Foundation Nepal, was a notable event on World Music Day, June 21, 2024. This program was supported by the International Society for Music Education, Make Music Alliance, Incorp. , and the Would Saviour Foundation.

The event highlighted the rich musical traditions of Nepal, featuring a diverse array of performances that showcased traditional Nepali folk music and contemporary fusion pieces. This celebration of Nepali culture aimed to emphasize the importance of preserving traditional music while embracing modern influences​.

World Music Day, originally known as Fête de la Musique, is a global celebration that began in France in 1982. It has since grown to include events in over 1,000 cities worldwide, encouraging musicians of all levels to perform in public spaces to promote the universal language of music​.

The participation of organizations such as the International Society for Music Education and the Make Music Alliance, Aastha Kala Kendra, Music Cloud Recording Studio, Sangrila Creation & SongGeet Channel helped elevate the event, connecting Nepal’s cultural heritage with a global audience and promoting cultural exchange through music​.

The performer were lead by lead female Singer Gita Pandey, Singer Rajesh Kumar Shrestha with Guitar, KC Raja Sarangi Player, Neema Lama,Madal, Sharad Rai,Flute player & Singer Amrita Limbu.
