2nd PostgreSQL Conference Nepal completed withimmense success.

The second PostgreSQL Conference Nepal has been completed. Nepal PostgreSQL User Group (NP
PUG) organized the afore-mentioned event.

According to the organizers, it was held in Dhulikhel of Kavre from 26th Baisakh to 29th of Baisakh. The
conference was conducted at Kathmandu University.

After the grand success of the 2018 SQL conference, the organization planned on organizing the second
conference. In the conference, discussions were held with renowned figures from the PostgreSQL user
group community and other local speakers.

The PostgreSQL conference which lasted for four days was attended by people from different fields in
Nepal. According to the organizers, people from the industry, government, academic etc. participated in
the program.

A two-day pre-conference training session was also organized before the conference. On May 9 and 10
(Baisakh 26 and 27), about 35 people from the education, industry, government, and non-government
sectors took training.

This year, international speakers from 8 countries including Russia, America, India and Pakistan were
present.

Egor Rogov, Jashan Preet Singh, Chris Travers, Umair Shahid, Krishna Lodha were the speakers for the
event. Likewise, Pavel Tolmachev, Oleg Bartunov, Alexander Burtsev, Rohit Mann Amatya and Sandeep
Basnet were also speakers in the program.

Mr. Balkrishna Bal, the coordinator of the conference, said, “We can now work on Postcode SQL for the
Nepali community. Not only that, but we can move forward together for the Nepali society on a frequent
basis.”

The main conference was held on May 11 and 12 (Baishakh 28 and 29) and featured members of the
PostgreSQL community as speakers. Key note session, parallel talk session and workshops were also
organized in the program.

Bal expects participation from various fields in this program and it will help to create a powerful
PostgreSQL user group in Nepal.
