The Newah Organization of America (NOA) families are deeply saddened to share the sudden passing of Mrs. Nani Maiya Shrestha, beloved mother of NOA’s Past President and Advisor Mr. Rajesh Shrestha, active supporters Mr. Nabin Shrestha, Mr. Rabin Shrestha and mother-in-law of NOA’s life member and active volunteer Mrs. Rohini Shrestha. She passed away peacefully in Kathmandu, Nepal on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the age of 80 years. She was born on October 9, 1942 (B.S. 1999, Aswin 23).
Late Mrs. Shrestha is survived by a husband, three sons, two daughters, three daughters-in-law, a son-in-law and eight grandchildren. We regret the loss of one of our own very prominent Nepali-Newah community members who has touched many lives, served and contributed so much during her lifetime.
The NOA extends heartfelt condolences to the entire Shrestha family. May god give strength and peace to the entire bereaved family members. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Rajesh Shrestha and all loved ones during this difficult time. Let us pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
