Daraz, the leading company in the e-commerce sector, is going to collaborate for the seventh edition of the ICT Award, which is known as the most prestigious award in the field of information and communication technology. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Wednesday between Anchal Kunwar, Managing Director of Daraz Nepal and Razan Lamsal, Coordinator of ICT Award. It has been mentioned in the agreement that Daraz will act as the ‘E- Commerce Partner’ and support and promote digital startups, innovations and talents in various ways in the ICT Award 2022.
Daraz is a leading e-commerce company in Nepal, which is providing services across the country as an online marketplace. More than 20 thousand sellers are included in the company itself. Daraz is organizing the Dashina festival this Saturday at Bhrikutimandap and is also organizing other programs and camps including Daraz Summit.
This is the seventh edition of the ICT Award, which had started in 2016, and the selection process has started for 12 different categories this year. This year, South Asia Startup ICT Award 2022 is also organized for startups from South Asian countries.
There are Startup ICT Award, Product ICT Award and Rising Star Innovation ICT Award categories for Nepali startups and innovations. The categories of awards given to the individuals who have made special contributions in the field of technology are Pioneer ICT Award, Entrepreneur ICT Award, Nepali Diaspora ICT Award and Woman Icon ICT Award. Similarly, the awards given to government and private organizations that provide excellent services through the use of technology include Digital Education ICT Award (Public Sector), Digital Education ICT Award (Private Sector), Digital Governance ICT Award and Digital Services ICT Award.
There are 13 jury members and 15 advisors in the selection process for the ICT Award, which is the main project of Living with ICT and in collaboration with various national and international organizations. This year, apart from South Asia, more than 400 nominations have been received in 11 other categories, and nominations for the South Asia Award can be submitted until 30th of September.
The grand finale of ICT Award 2022 will be held on 8th of Poush 2079 (23 December) at The Soaltee Kathmandu. Likewise, as a pre-event campaign, startup and idea fest program will be organized as an exhibition and mentoring session of more than 100 digital start-ups from all over the country in the third week of Kartik.
