We, at Nepa Pasa Pucha Amerikaye (NPPA), are extremely saddened by the demise of centenarian Mrs. Tej Kumari Shrestha, mother of NPPA Founder Member and Patron Mr. Biswamber Lal Shresta and Life Member Mr. Deepak Lal Shrestha; and mother-in-law of NPPA Patron Mrs. Mandira Shrestha and Life Member Mrs. Bidya Shrestha. She passed away in Rockville, Maryland on Monday, July 11, 2022, at the age of 105 years. She was born on September 11, 1916, in Kathmandu, Nepal.
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama signed and dispatched a felicitation document through the White House to Mrs. Shrestha to congratulate her when she was celebrating her 100th birthday.
Mrs. Shrestha is survived by four sons, a daughter, four daughters-in-law, 10 grandchildren, two granddaughters-in-law, eight grandsons-in-law, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved Shrestha family for their irreparable loss. Our prayers are with them at this tough time of grief and pray for the eternal and heavenly peace of the departed soul.
