Online nomination of ICT AWARD 2022 begins for 11 different categories

The ICT AWARD, which started in 2016, is being organized in a sophisticated and expanded manner every year. Startup ICT Award, Product ICT Award, Rising Star Innovation ICT Award are the 3 categories that are related to startups and innovation among the 11 categories that have been nominated this year. The categories of awards given to individuals who have made special contributions in the field of ICT include
Pioneer ICT Award, Entrepreneur ICT Award, Nepali Diaspora ICT Award and Women Icon ICT Award.

Likewise, the Digital Education ICT Award (Public Sector), Digital Education ICT Award (Private Sector), Digital Governance ICT Award, and Digital Services ICT Award are given to public and private organizations for providing excellent services through the use of technology. Razan Lamsal, Chairman of the organizing committee, said that the best startups at the province level have been selected via Startup & Idea Fest program which was conducted successfully with a resounding success in all of the seven provinces in March and May this year. The Grand Finale event will also recognize the top startups from each province in addition to the 11 genres. Similar to that, one of the genres will be
revealed later and will also be aimed at an international audience, according to the organizer.

The grand finale of the ICT AWARD 2022 will be held in December this year. The selection process will proceed in more than five stages in order to make this six-month time award excellent and transparent in every way. There are 13 special advisory committees and 12 expert jury committees. Presentation of the awards, speed dating, public voting, and field trips for the top five are all included. This year, there will be more than 25 jury meetings, according to the organizers. Similar to this, a special session called “Startup and Idea Fest” will be held in Kathmandu for over 40 startups that were chosen from every province and for dozens of startups that were chosen in the third phase from the awards. The F1Soft ICT AWARD 2021, held last year, did not include awards in 12 different categories. Kheti Venture won the Startup ICT Award and Mikha won the Product ICT Award last year. Likewise, Mashoor received the Rising Star Innovation ICT Award 2021.

Manohar Bhattarai, Binay Bohra, Prashant Dhungel and Guna Keshari Pradhan received the Pioneer ICT Award, Entrepreneur ICT Award, Nepali Diaspora ICT Award and Ncell Woman Icon ICT Award 2021 respectively. Land Management and Archive Department, Nepal Clearing House received the Digital Governance and Digital Services Award, respectively, last year. Similarly, Kalika Madhyamik Vidyalaya and Rato Bangla School received the Digital Education ICT Award for Public and Private Sector. More than 500 online applications were received for the ICT AWARD 2021. The advisory and jury committee made suggestions to improve the award during the discussion program held by the organizers on Wednesday. According to Dr. Ram Kumar Phuyal, the ICT Award has been established as a significant occasion to recognize people and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the field of technology from fresh perspectives and startups and have gained the respect of all. The ICT Award, which has established a significant platform for startups and innovators to advance, has a unique charm among the awards to be held in Nepal, according to Sushil Pokharel of the Jury Committee. The grand finale of the ICT AWARD 2022 will be held in the second week of December. Award winners will receive various services and facilities with special honors. The winners of the startup category will also get concessional loan facility and investment opportunity.

Categories of ICT AWARD 2022

1. STARTUP ICT AWARD
The company must be registered and operating in accordance with the applicable laws of Nepal in order to be eligible for this award, which supports and encourages businesses engaged in the development of IT products, services, and innovation.

Companies that have been registered within the last four years are eligible to apply.
2. PRODUCT ICT AWARD
Any Nepali business, group, organization, or person may submit a nomination for an IT or innovative product for the ICT Product Award. IT products that were released to the public in 2078 BS are eligible for nomination in this category.
3. RISING STAR INNOVATION ICT AWARD
College and university students, as well as other young people under the age of 30, may submit nominations for research, innovation, and projects for the Rising Star Innovation ICT Award.
4. PIONEER ICT AWARD
Seniors who have made exceptional contributions to the field of information and communication technology are recognized with this award. An individual who meets the requirements may nominate themselves or another person in this category.
5. NEPALI DIASPORA ICT AWARD
This honor will be given to a Nepali-born person who resides abroad and is recognized for their contributions to the nation’s information technology sector. It is possible to nominate oneself or another eligible person in this category.
6. ENTREPRENEUR ICT AWARD
Entrepreneurs in Nepal who are involved in the information technology sector will receive the Entrepreneur ICT Award. It is possible to nominate oneself or another eligible person in this category.
7. WOMAN ICON ICT AWARD
Women from Nepal who work in information technology are eligible for the Woman Icon ICT Award. It is possible to nominate oneself or another eligible person in this category.
8. DIGITAL EDUCATION ICT AWARD (Public Sector)
The goal of the Digital Education ICT Award is to encourage the education sector to adopt digital and technological practices. It is given to government and community educational institutions. An individual or any other accredited educational institution participating in this category may submit a nomination.
9. DIGITAL EDUCATION ICT AWARD (Private Sector)
With the intention of encouraging private sector educational institutions as well, the Digital Education ICT Award (Private Sector) category was added this year. A nomination may be submitted under the name of the nominee or the name of any other accredited educationalinstitution.
10. DIGITAL GOVERNANCE ICT AWARD
Successful government organizations, bodies, departments, or municipalities will be able to submit nominations in this category for their efforts to digitize government services and facilities in order to offer technology-friendly services to the public. A qualified governmental body or any other participant in this category may be named on a nomination form.
11. DIGITAL SERVICES ICT AWARD
Private sector organizations, limited companies, or businesses that offer the general public digital services may submit nominations in this category. Other service-oriented private sector businesses can also compete in this category, which was added this year, in addition to IT and software firms. A nomination may be submitted under the name of the nominee or the name of any other accredited institution.
