Startup and Innovation Fest 2021 being hosted in Kathmandu on Saturday

The ICT Startup and Innovation Fest 2021 is being hosted in the Presidential Business School in Kathmandu on Saturday on 2nd of October 2021 with the goal of encouraging young people to try something new and innovative in the country.

The ICT Awards 2021, organized by Living with ICT and title-sponsored by F1Soft, will honor the best startups, products, and rising star innovators. The online applications were recently closed for the 6th edition of the ICT AWARD. More than 350 online applications were received in 11 different categories, with the top 10 contestants in the Startup ICT Award, Product ICT Award, and Rising Star Innovation ICT Award presenting their products and innovations at the event after two rounds of the evaluation process.

The exhibition will feature over 40 startup and innovation stalls. A mentoring session will be held today as part of the event. The startups will be mentored by Suman Shakya, Co-Founder of Nepal Entrepreneurs Hub, Shankar Upreti, Founder of Hamro Patro, and Rajendra Giri, Chairman of Applyjob.com

The top 10 and 11 in three categories have been announced by the F1Soft ICT Award 2021, which has Genese as in-association with and powered by Huawei. The top 10 Startup ICT Award winners and the top 11 Rising Star Innovation and Product ICT Award winners have been announced by the ICT Awards jury committee.

The jury committee announced the top ten and eleven after evaluating the nominees in various stages. The ICT Awards, organized by Living with ICT, have a jury committee of 12 IT experts and a 15-member special advisory committee. Bugby Software Technologies Pvt., Dulwa Expenditure, Hamro Life Bank, House of Books Pvt., Kalki IoT Solutions Pvt., and Kheti Ventures Pvt. are among the top 10 Startup ICT Awards winners.

Likwise, Agriclear, Ask Mattrab, Disease Prediction in Maize Plant, In SAT, IoT-based Economic Air Purifier, Medicos International, Mushoor, Open Past Paper, PK Agro Blockchain, and Rent on Bike are among the top 11 Rising Star Innovation ICT Award winners.

Likewise, Baato, Bugby, IMS Distribution Management Pvt., Kheti Food App and Kheti Farm App, Mikha, NIC Asia iServe, PlantSat, RAHAT, Sayak, Smart Wealth Pro and UG Bazaar are in the top 11 of the Product ICT Awards.

Participants who place in the top ten have been invited to the Startup and Innovation Fest. According to the organizer, the best 5 will be chosen by participating in the presentation and speed dating session. However, public voting and field visits will be conducted to choose the best from the top five. Likewise, the jury committee will advance the selection process in the other eight categories at different stages.

Startup ICT AWARD, Product ICT AWARD, Rising Star Innovation ICT AWARD, Pioneer ICT AWARD, Nepali Diaspora ICT AWARD, Entrepreneur ICT AWARD, and Women Icon ICT AWARD are among the other categories of the ICT Awards. Likewise, the Digital Governance ICT AWARD, Digital Services ICT AWARD, and Digital Education ICT AWARD are among the public and private sectors. The ICT Awards 2021 grand finale will take place on 17th of December, 2021 at the Soaltee Hotel.

This year, Rastriya Banijya Bank will bestow special honors on the award winners, including loan facility of up to Rs 1.5 million, investment opportunities in startups and ideas, and other important services and facilities. The winner of the Startup ICT Award category will receive Huawei critical services worth Rs 300,000 from Powered-by sponsor Huawei.
