Women’s Empowerment Award ‘Yearley-Dimitrova Warren Award’ announced

The Yearley Trust, an organization working on community health, education, sports and women’s empowerment in rural Nepal, has announced the ‘Yearley-Dimitrova Warren Award’.

The award announced under the coordination and leadership of National Athlete Santoshi Shrestha, who gave a historic gold medal in athletics to Nepal in the last 13th SAG, will be given to the person (Male-Female) or organization who contributes for the empowerment of women and adolescent girls.

As well as, this award, which is given annually, will also be given to women and adolescents who have done exemplary work in various fields. This will include those who have made efforts in various field such as; enterprises, sports, education, health, rights, justice, services and community activities.

The award has been announced with the objective of honoring and encouraging women who have been empowered in their own way and any person or organization contributing to empowerment.

To the award winner Thirty thousand rupees’ cash will be provided along with special trophy. In addition, the award has been announced to help and supports to make the work of the winner easier. The award will be expanded and announced in every year.

Nepali citizens of any age group who have made any kind of contribution for the empowerment of women and adolescent girls in any part of Nepal can apply or recommend for the award. Applications for the award must be submitted through the Google Form by the end of next September (Ashoj 14). The trust, which is active in rural development and empowerment, is running a school at the community level in Sidhalekh rural municipality of Dhading. Similarly, training and camps are being conducted in community education and child development, health, sports, various entrepreneurship, provision of necessary materials, scholarship and sponsorship, construction of physical infrastructure and protection of environment.

The award was organized by the trust’s founder John Yearly and trust member Doriana Dimitrova.
