Bhaisakhi full moon is very auspicious for Buddhist.
Nyingma (Mahayana Buddhists) also known as Tibetant Buddhists celebrate Saga Dawa ,the single most important auspicious or holy day of the year.The Saga Dawa Duchen(Duchen means great occasion) is celebrated from May 12,2021 to June 10,2021. The 15th day of this lunar month, the full moon day, is called Saga Dawa ( Shakya Dawa and Duchhen falls on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.The Shakya Dawa or Saga Dawa or Duchhen commemorates birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana of the perfect and most supreme teacher, Buddha Shakyamuni.This occasion is better known as Buddha Purniama (Buddha Jayanti) in other Buddhist traditions.
Saga Dawa the month of Merits:
It is also known as the month of merits: it’s also called bumgyur Dawa, which means Saga Dawa merits multiplied by a hundred thousands times. During this time Buddhists worldwide make extra efforts in practicing Dharma, generosity, and compassion to accumulate greater virtuous merits and purify our negative karmas. Along with remembering Buddha and his activities, the festival’s main point is to pray. Many say the goal of the festival season is to pray for the long life of all holy Gurus from all traditions, for the survival and spreading of Budha’s teachings of all sentient beings, and peace on earth.
What is the meaning of Buddha
The word Buddha in Sanskrit means awakening.Buddha was a great personality, teacher, philosopher, guide and promoter, who awoke from the pain of worldly attachments.
Buddha was a great teacher and through his discourse helped awaken people from worldly lusts and tensions.Instead of saying God created the world, he stressed the importance of religion and law in the world.
Just like when buying a product or a machine, you can use the booklet for instructions to use, Buddha’s teachings also have provided us meaningful directions and guidelines when it comes to handling the success and ups and downs of life.
Buddha, who taught to sow the seeds of truth and peace in the field of the heart, was born in 563 BC in the middle of a saline orchard in present-day Kapilvastu district of Nepal.
Today,the world has followed Buddha’s example. He is looked upon as the Guru of world peace,truthfulness,non-violence and simplicity.
His endless pursuit of truth and enlightenment dating 2500 years ago has provided a new dimension to the human community.Let Me shed some light on Buddha on the day of Baishakh Shukla Purnima, which is today.
This Baishakh Shukla Purnima has a great significance in the life of Buddha. His birth, attainment of knowledge and Samadhi took place on this Baisakh Purnima day.
Buddha Jayanti is celebrated in its own way from North to South Pole o, from the Dead Sea to the Marianas Trench in the Pacific Ocean, and from Benaras to Beijing.
Although he is no more amongst us,however , Buddha still lives in our minds and hearts because of his teachings.
The real name of Buddha is Siddhartha Gautama, and it is said that he walked 7 steps north at birth and pointed his finger towards the wind.
He is considered to be the great soul and the last incarnation of God on earth.The pool where Siddhartha Gautam bathed was called Siddhartha Kunda.
After Prince Siddhartha Gautama was born, his mother Mayadevi died 7 days later. The highly disciplined and dignified prince married Yashodhara at the age of 16.
At the age of 29, Gautama,abdicated the throne, left behind all comforts and luxuries and set out in search of knowledge, truth and enlightenment
The prince was in search of knowledge to alleviate the pain and suffering of human life, and the enlightenment he gained through years and years of penance later came to be known Buddhism.
On the path to enlightenment,Gautama observed the condition of sick people, the wounded, the greedy as well as the people who became monks by donating all their possessions to others.
Thus, seeking answers and solutions for the cause of worldly misery, he left home at the age of 29 undertook penance under a tree at a place called Bodh Gaya.
During penance, Buddha attained Samyak Samvodhi, or great knowledge. In the years that followed, he shared the same knowledge which later was called Buddhism,
Buddhism has made its way across the globe . It is not only an atheistic religion but also a universal philosophy based on Gautama teachings which professes non-violence, iniquity and truth to save mankind.

Buddhism is practiced by over 350 million people worldwide and is the fourth largest religion in the world.
Buddhism has spread its tentacles in Nepal, China, India, Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bhutan, Japan, Mongolia, Korea and other countries.
The philosophy of Buddhism spread all over the world. As a mark of respect and honour, countries around the world have built Budha temples and monasteries.
Buddha attained Nirvana at the age of 80. He attained enlightenment after intense ascetic meditation at Bodh Gaya. The compilation of all the teachings of Buddhism is called Tripitaka.
The Tripitaka describes in detail the 32 physical qualities of Buddhism. It contains 84,000 Buddha Sutras and 84,000 Gyan Sutras, including 2,000 of his leading disciples.
Gautam Buddha is considered by Hindus as one of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu.
He is also known as the star of Asia. Since Buddha was born in Nepal, the government of Nepal has declared a national holiday on his birth anniversary every year.
Buddhism refers to a great human being who attained enlightenment and truth ultimately.
While North Korea is causing and creating unrest, havoc and mayhem in the world indiscriminately,Buddha’s philosophy advocates peace and tranquillity.
If Buddha’s preachings and teachings are fully absorbed,the earth will be a much better place.The world needs another Buddha.Come back Shakyamuni Buddha.
