RnR Groups -The President of America Nepal Society (ANS) Prabha Bhattarai Deuja met with US Senator Mark Warner on Friday at an event in Sterling Virginia and talked about the situation in Nepal.Hari Sharma,Madhu Panthi and Mohan Niraul was present on the occasion.
Hari Sharma,a resident of Sterling,VA is affiliated with Democratic Party and Madhu Panthi was a Town Council Member of the Town of Haymarket,Virginia.
President Bhattarai thanked Senator Warner for all his work and leadership in DC,and talked about how ANS lead the effort to help people register for COVID-19 vaccine primarily in Northern Virginia,and also in Maryland and DC.
President Bhattarai handed over the letter to the Senator that describes the dire circumstances in Nepal,and the areas that Nepal needs help immediately.She also informed Senator that US Congressman Gerry Connolly,who is with Nepal Caucus is also aware of the situation and has been helping the effort.
During the 15 min conversation,she requested Senator to do everything he can to support Nepal now.She also informed him about how the Nepalese expatriates and friends of Nepal across the US are leading efforts to raise funds and resources needed to assist the people in Nepal.
Registered in Washington DC in 1967, ANS is the first Nepali organization in USA.
