Dear NPPA Community Members, Jwajalapa:
We are now seeking article submissions to our annual Daboo Magazine (29th Anniversary issue), and you are cordially invited to send essays, short stories, poems, opinion pieces, jokes, informational write-ups on any aspect of Nepal’s culture/traditions as well as any useful write-up related to COVID-19. If you would like to contribute, please familiarize yourself with our guidelines below. Our magazine will be released in November 2020 and your final submission must be emailed to [email protected] by July 31, 2020.
Suggested submission length is 1,000 words. If the author believes the article needs to be longer, then s/he should communicate with the editor prior to submission. We invite submissions ranging from short vignettes to well-developed articles, and opinion pieces. We are seeking articles written in a reader-friendly style, and ask contributors to share stories and experiences with concrete examples. These are what will make ideas and observations most useful and relevant to our members and readers.
As to style, we will respect your personal touch. As in the past, we are seeking articles where we can see, hear, and feel the people, events, difficulties, and inspiration/s you’re writing about. We are also seeking informative articles on COVID-19. Sharing your personal stories and experiences with concrete examples, and COVID-19 related information will connect the readers with your ideas/observations and the information you present. If an accompanying image/s will make your subject more compelling, we will be happy to publish it. In addition, we also invite original short stories, poems, and jokes. If you are making a submission, please also include two to three lines of autobiographical information. (Where you live, your interests, community affiliations, etc.).
We also request that you support NPPA by placing your business advertisements and personal greetings in Daboo. You can do so by contacting any Executive Committee member of NPPA. The rates for 2020 are as follows:

Full inside cover – $350
Full inside back cover – $250
Full page – $175
Half business – $100
Half personal – $40
Half personal with photo – $100
Quarter Business – $50
Quarter personal – $25
