PRESS RELEASE OF ASSOCIATION OF NEPALESE IN MIDWEST AMERICA (ANMA )

The Association of Nepalese in Midwest America (ANMA) notes that the world is engaged in a daunting battle against the pandemic caused by Corona Virus (COVID 19). Each day, we hear of more casualties and hardship throughout the world and express our resolve to join the struggle as we salute all the brave individual who are serving the people on the frontline despite the fear of the disease spread.

We pray for the speedy recovery of anyone victimized by the COVID19. At the same time, we appeal everyone to follow the directives and orders of governments and do your best to practice simple preventative measures issued by CDC,WHO, coronavirus.gov and other trusted organizations. Prevention is the best remedy at this time to save our lives by not spreading this highly communicable disease. We pray that the turmoil will end soon from all the great efforts by governments, organizations, and individuals.

ANMA is a 40-year old organization primarily serving some 100,000 Nepalis and Nepali-Americans in the US Midwest. We have always taken an interest in the events in, continuing development and progress of Nepal and have frequently, taken the lead
in expressing our viewpoints. We are saddened by the outbreak and greatly concerned with the day to day problems people are facing, particularly, the Nepali- American community residing in the country.

We have established a “ANMA Help Desk” to provide useful information, counseling, and any other assistance within our capacity and resources. Please contact following ANMA volunteers. They will, in turn, guide anyone to the appropriate
professionals and or organizations.
