HAPPY TAMU LHOSAR 2076!!!

Each year on 15th Poush, Tamu Lhosar, that is the festival of the Gurung community is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Nepal .Lhosar is when the Gurung community ushers in a new year. They divide time in a cycle of 12 years and each year is represented by 12 different animals – garuda, serpent, horse, sheep, monkey, bird, dog, deer, mouse, cow, tiger and cat which are called “lho.” The coming new year is represented by Iho ” Mouse ” ( च्यूल्होसार ) .Each Lhosar they bid farewell to the existing lho season and welcome a new one. This is a time of great family gatherings, feasts, and joyful cultural events. The holiday is based on local calendar systems but tends to fall near the end of December, not far from Gregorian New Year’s Day.

On behalf of Nepalese Association in Southeast America ( NASeA), We wish a happy, joyful and the most entertaining LHOSAR to all our respected Tamu communities in Nepal, America and all over the world .

Thank you all

Respectfully
