Saturday, June 8, 2019, Kathmandu — With the 3rd iteration, Open Space Network organized Samyang presents Namaste Eid 2019 Powered by Muslim Commission and Visit Nepal 2020, a multicultural event that aims to bring people from various communities of Nepal together to celebrate Eid and conclude the fasting month of Ramadan. The immense crowd of thousands of people at Labim Mall witnessed the beauty of Islamic culture and spread the message of diversity and unity.

Like the past 2 years, the event showcased various stalls consisting of halal outlets, henna artists to perfume and apparel stalls, while the ambience was filled with fun at Kids Zone, Games, Sufi Musical and Dance performances.

The amazing hosts of the event, Ms. Deepanjali Lama Shah and Mr. Sanjay Gupta were remarkable in engaging the audience. All the artists who performed were in their A-game as everyone captivated the audience with their outstanding performances.

Moreover, it was a delight to have Hon. Dhan Bahadur Buda, the State Minister of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation as the Chief Guest of the event.

The main attraction of the show, Modest Modern Hijab Fashion Show was run by Nuzhat Qazi, where the crowd went crazy upon having renowned and influential celebrities like Raveena Desraj Shrestha, Miss Nepal 2018 Shrinkhala Khatiwada and Priyanka Karki as they walked along with the models on the ramp wearing Hijab. The event was also live on Kantipur Television from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

“We wanted to make this a platform to strengthen and unite local communities by reviving, celebrating and sharing the essence of Eid. The support we’ve received this year has encouraged us, even more, to work harder and attain greater heights in the coming years” said event founder Faija Parween expressing gratitude to all the visitors and the highlighted organizations.

From going live on a national TV to thirty-seven partners coming together, Namaste Eid 2019 was able to set a new milestone in the 2 years of its commencement.
