The Association of Nepalese Agricultural Professionals of Americas (NAPA, http://napaamericas.org/) is delighted to initiate mini-research projects in agricultural and allied disciplines in collaboration with researchers/development activists/faculties and undergraduate and graduate students of various academic institutions in Nepal. This pilot project is directed to support and promote sustainable food security situation on the long run.

Recently, NAPA implemented collaborative mini-research projects in Mid-West Academy and Research Institute, Campus of Live Sciences (MARICoLS), Dang, Nepal, where three mini-research projects conducted by students were supported and the research projects completed successfully (http://napaamericas.org/downloads/agri-connection-vol-3-issue-4-2018.pdf).

NAPA is committed to expanding collaborative mini-research projects for developing and strengthening the capacity of undergraduate and graduate students, postgraduate professionals, independent researchers, and faculties in Nepal and aims at expanding beyond in coming years. Therefore, NAPA would like to appeal interested individuals from NAPA community and beyond to contribute to NAPA Research Mini-Grant (RMG) pool funds for a good cause of underpinning food security around the globe. For details on RMG please click the link (http://napaamericas.org/research-mini-grants.php). Such pool-funded projects will be solicited, evaluated, selected, supported, and managed by Executive Committee in consultation and as per the recommendation by Resource and Capacity Building Committee (RCBC) depending on the amount of pool fund. Sponsors will have an opportunity to identify research areas, implementing institution, and a name of the mini-research grant (if the amount is $100 or more).

Sponsors may supervise the research conducted by the mini-grant recipient(s) or may authorize NAPA to supervise the sponsored research. However, anyone willing to contribute to the pool fund for collaborative research may donate any amount. The amount will be disbursed to support the selected small-scale research projects. Your generous contribution is NAPA’s inspiration to serve the community back in the motherland and beyond. We are thankful to several proactive donors and sponsors whose generous contribution has made the pool fund a little over NRs. three hundred thousand so far.

Together we can make a difference!

Please contact NAPA if you have any questions.
