People’s PAC for People calls for increased participation of Nepali Americans in the U.S. political process.
New York City, September 26: People’s PAC for People organized a community event for local Nepali Americans and others to watch the 1st Presidential Debate between Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and Republican candidate Donald Trump at the hall of Himalayan Yak in Jackson Heights, New York. The goal of the program was to bring community members in one location and view the debate and share the opinions of the participants. Some 40 plus participants enthusiastically took part in the event and some of them briefly shared their views on the candidates’ positions on various issues raised during the 90 minutes long debate. Due to time constraints, organizers informed the participants that there will possibly be a separate forum to discuss this debate for the next one in October.
People’s PAC for People is encouraging Nepal Americans to get involved in the civic and political process throughout the country. If anyone who is eligible to vote has not registered should go to https://vote.gov and registered to vote. Voting is not only the constitutional right of the citizens, it is also their obligation. So, please engage in the campaign activities in your local areas.
People’s PAC for people is an independent political action committee. It is registered with Federal Election Commission and Internal Revenue Services. The general purpose of the organization is to encourage and strengthen the engagement of Nepal Americans in the mainstream political process of the United States of America.
