Dear Friends and Well wishers, Greetings from Nepal

Time and tides waits no one. Time is the most powerful power that heals every wound. It has been 5 years that we lost our two sons giving birth to many sons and daughters who were in most vulnerable condition living life in isolation. Loosing our own and even more two grown up sons in between a year is horrible and the grief behind it unbearable.

Though my life was traumatized, I decided to give real tribute to my departed souls by uplifting the most marginalized and poorest of the poor of Nepalese society to bring them in mainstream national life by holistic transformation through integrated approach. Thus, we established Laxmi Pratisthan (a memorial foundation) at the name of my wife, Laxmi Gautam as the patron.

We believe that poverty is a denial and violation of human rights and stems from a historical process of exclusion and injustice. In Nepal, structural forces including patriarchy, exclusion, unjust governance, and no liberal policies exacerbate poverty. Nepal is at a critical historic juncture and in the process of social and political transformation. Groups that were traditionally marginalized and excluded on the basis of caste, class, gender, and ethnicity are fighting for inclusion and equality. These groups are demanding that their human rights be promoted and protected and they are challenging the state to address their needs and include them in the process of governance. More than ever before, we are presented with a historic opportunity to address the structural factors that cause poverty and ensure the rights of people living in poverty.

To bring the positive changes in the lives of marginalized, oppressed, deprived, poorest of the poor and socially excludes we believe in do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can so that to bring happiness in the face of neglected humans in our societies. Thus Laxmi Pratisthan intervenes directly the programs and projects targeted to these right holders. Generating ownership, people’s participation and engaging people themselves in their development process are our approaches. Skill transformation, economic empowerment, gender mainstreaming with the themes of Education, Livelihood and Income generation, lessening vulnerability, Health and Empowerment through integrated approach and sustainable framework. We work with the most neglected people/community and groups in remotest of the remote of Nepal.

We don’t have any regular donor and thus we appeal every individual to support us for our effort. Could you please help us from your place to save human lives in Nepal? We would intervene directly to the neediest through our intervention approach acknowledging you formally as the sponsor. Hope you will response positively to make a life saved and letting him/her to lead dignified life. Your small amount matters a lot so we invite all the like-minded people and institutions/donors/charities/religious groups to be part of it. We want to assure you that the amount you donated will be used only for the purpose mentioned above and in the span of four year’s short time we have amplified happiness together in the faces of these innocents by our interventions. To achieve it we have been unafraid of trying new things and taking different approaches as we strive to do all the good we can. We sincerely request you to be part of this human response by contributing a little sum for this noble cause. Joining hands together can bring transformation, together it is possible.
