Kathmandu, July 21: The Human Rights and Peace Society (HURPES) has called on the Parliament to initiate discussions on the demands put forth by Dr Govinda KC, who is on a fast-unto-death since July 10, calling for reform in the medical education sector.

“It is sad that this topic has not entered the Parliament even when 12 days have passed since Dr KC began the hunger strike and negative comments on the motive of the top leaders of the major political parties have started increasing in society,” HURPES president Gangadhar Adhikari stated in a press release today.

The Society has also called for addressing the demands raised by Dr KC through democratic and the due process.
