While ANTA’s effort to collect the fund is still underway, ANTA was quick to provide reliefs to the earthquake victims on the ground. ANTA, under the supervision of its founding president, Ratan Jha, launched “Meals on Wheel” program to provide the food to the earthquake victim in the Lamosangu village in Sindhupalchok District when the people there needed the most at the moment. A group of volunteers from Sisautia, Sarlahi, loaded with chura, rice, dal, salt, vegetables, travelled to the affected area and make the program a reality at the ground zero.

ANTA’s effort in providing the reliefs to the victim was strengthened by collaborative work with Eejot (Sarlahi, Nepal) and Dev Foundation (Dhangadhi, Kailali, Nepal), who joined hand in hand with ANTA, by adding both the fund and volunteers in the pool, to make the program successful. The “Meals on Wheel” program went on for a week, and at its later stage distributed grains and vegetables to the needy households. ANTA is thankful to the volunteers for their compassion and dedication towards service to humanity, and to the participating organizations for joining hands with ANTA in its efforts to provide relief to the Earthquake victims when needed most.

In addition to the “Meals on Wheel” program, ANTA, together with its collaborative organizations has distributed Tripals (tarf) for providing temporary shelter, and is in process of acquiring more Tripals for distribution. In coming weeks, ANTA will be providing medical assistance, by running health camp, and in long-term will contribute to the construction and rehabilitation efforts.
